Sony's prototype for Nintendo was a hybrid cartridge / disc-drive console that sold for $300,000 at auction.
Although this is the only known prototype / dev kit in existence, it's an amazing piece of gaming history. It's clear to see that the goal was to retain the ability to play older cartridge games while simultaneously ushering in a new era in gaming.
"...an amazing piece of gaming history."
Although Sony went on to cement their own place in gaming history as a mainstay it's fun to think of what a partnership between Sony and Nintendo might look like.
